Number 8

I have a friend, who when she was 5 years old, she loved watching the Disney princess movies. One day at her grand parent's house, she on the living room on her own, watching on the flat screen TV. She was watching one of her favorite movies, Mulan. As the movie progresses, my friend decided she was hungry, so she went to the kitchen but was to lazy to make herself food, so instead she grab a pair of scissors and a small garbage pale and went back to the living room to continue her movie. In the movie the a scene where the main character cuts her own hair and my friend decided it would be fun to imitate her, so she sat there cutting her hair as the main character in the movie was cutting her hair. In the process my friend chopped off 90% of her hair and then continued on with her movie as if nothing had happened. After the movie was done, she went to go see her mother, who was sleeping upstairs in a bedroom, she woke her up and her mother was so surprised to see her looking so different with most of her hair missing. Her mother then asked her "what have you do to yourself?" and my friend was so confused about what her mother was referring to. That's when my friend's mother took her to a mirror to show her how she looked like. At that moment my friend's father walked into the house and went looking for them and found them in the bedroom. Her father got one glimpse of her and couldn't stop laughing. In the ended she never got in trouble, all that happened was that her parents took her to a barber shop to try and even out her hair.

Because of this experience my friend learned that she should never do anything with scissors without permission and her parents supervision. Due to her experience, for a very long time my friend hated short hair. Now that she's 18, she's learned to love short hair.

I have a friend, who at 3 years old, she loved to draw on everything and anything she can get her hands on. She would go to extreme points to get what she wanted. One day in the car she had a pen, she was sitting in the back seat and decided to draw on the back of the driver seat. She drew a picture of a family, a sun and rainbow. Then she decided to practice writing her name. A couple days later, while her parent where cleaning out the car, they found her little master piece and found it hilarious. After the laughter had stopped, they went looking for their daughter and brought her back to the car, to ask her who drew on the seat. That's when my friend decided to responded with a plain "I don't know" and she got "The look" from her parents and once again got asked, "who drew the picture on the back of the seat?". Knowing that her parents knew the truth and that she was going to be in trouble, she decided her best bet would be to not respond at all. That's when her parents looked at each other and smiled, then they asked a fallowed up question, "why is your name written on the seat?". She replied with an "it wasn't me, someone else put it there". This went on for a little while. Then her parents decided to just explain to her that they knew she had done it and how lying always made things worse and that she should never lie. After this experience she never drew on anything other then paper again, specially without permission.

This experience thought her to never lie because sooner or later she will get caught and their will be consequences. Because of this experience now my friend almost never lies and when she does their always white lies.

In this blog I am going to talk about the 10 dumbest things that kids tend to do. I will be giving examples from  my personal life as well as examples from my friends lives, all the following stories are true. I will be explaining how these experiences helped us become the people we are today and the things we learn through the experiences. Please fell free to post your personal stories or your comments.

Number 10:

I have a friend, who at 9 years old was going through an ''I love playing with fire" phase. Once she was at her grand parents house and was bored, so she though it was the perfect occasion to play with fire. At the time her grand parents had a gas stove, so she went looking for candles and BBQ sticks and created  her own game. This game consisted of lighting the BBQ sticks and walking the stick across the room to attempt to light the candles. Now my friend has a younger sister, at the time her sister was 4 years old, and looked up to friend. In attempt to bond with my friend, her younger sister decided to join the game. My friend at an attempt to a responsible older sister, she didn't want her sister playing with fire, but her sister wouldn't leave her alone. Now my friend continuing on with her game, lite the BBQ stick and towards the candle, but to get to the candle she had to pass her sister on way. Without my friend noticing, as she was passing her sister, the BBQ stick touched her sister's hair and it caught on fire. When my friend notice her sister's hair on fire, she panicked and started blowing at it. Luckily the fire wasn't to big that she was able to blow it out and only a chunk of her sister's hair got burned off but it was not noticeable. It was so unnoticeable that up to this day no one in her family knows, including her sister. With this horrifying experience, my friend, being a kid, still played with fire but always made sure no one else was around during her little games.

Now that she is older, she now realizes that playing with fire is not game and this story helped her become who she is today because it helped her realize how easy it is to hurt someone. This experience helped her become a more responsible and a more aware older sister.
