Number 8

I have a friend, who when she was 5 years old, she loved watching the Disney princess movies. One day at her grand parent's house, she on the living room on her own, watching on the flat screen TV. She was watching one of her favorite movies, Mulan. As the movie progresses, my friend decided she was hungry, so she went to the kitchen but was to lazy to make herself food, so instead she grab a pair of scissors and a small garbage pale and went back to the living room to continue her movie. In the movie the a scene where the main character cuts her own hair and my friend decided it would be fun to imitate her, so she sat there cutting her hair as the main character in the movie was cutting her hair. In the process my friend chopped off 90% of her hair and then continued on with her movie as if nothing had happened. After the movie was done, she went to go see her mother, who was sleeping upstairs in a bedroom, she woke her up and her mother was so surprised to see her looking so different with most of her hair missing. Her mother then asked her "what have you do to yourself?" and my friend was so confused about what her mother was referring to. That's when my friend's mother took her to a mirror to show her how she looked like. At that moment my friend's father walked into the house and went looking for them and found them in the bedroom. Her father got one glimpse of her and couldn't stop laughing. In the ended she never got in trouble, all that happened was that her parents took her to a barber shop to try and even out her hair.

Because of this experience my friend learned that she should never do anything with scissors without permission and her parents supervision. Due to her experience, for a very long time my friend hated short hair. Now that she's 18, she's learned to love short hair.

  1. Wow! It's funny what kids imiagine and think of these days! What they tend to do. Especially how kids can be so innocent in situations like this(well the girl not knowing what she did wasnt actually good to do) even though it was pretty funny. And how this 5 year old girl was influenced by a Disney princess. I think the world today has led our kids of any age even teenagers to have a wild imaginations and so much curiosity and influences to try and experience new things like this girl. Hopefully the people learn from their mistakes as well.

  2. Hahaa! No surprise young children do the craziest things including myself. I did something similar to what your friend did when i was about 6 years old. I found scissors in the bathroom and decided to cut my hair and flush it down the toilet so i would not get caught. Of course my parents found out when I came out the washroom with chunks of hair missing. After that i had to get my hair cut off and just like your friend and still to today I am not a fan of short hair for that reason.

  3. I know someone who did this exact thing.. no one ever realizes what kind of influence Disney actually has on people. However, they make hilarious stories for when we're older, how many people can say that Mulan actually influenced them into cutting their hair. (Not me thank heavens!) good blog!

  4. Kids are quite amusing, until they decide to rub an entire jar of Vaseline all over everything in the bedroom as well as the bedroom of their sibling like my sister did at age four. On a more related note, I always find stories of kids cutting their own hair quite interesting. This is something I never did as a child, and seems to be something done by females more than males. I did, however, cut the fur on one of my stuffed animals making a terrible mess all over the carpet. Thankfully my plush cat's appearance suffered and not my own.

  5. Haha! Great story! I love how that young five year old girl had the common sense and curtesy to grab a garbage pail too! I in fact, as a child, used to not cut my own hair - but rather my dogs long winter fur, and my brothers long curly golden locks. My parents would remain unsuspecting of my crime, until of course the time came to clean the creases of the couches and they would find tresses of hair stuffed under the cushions! Oh how I miss being a child...

  6. Wonderful little anecdotes about the crazy things we do as children. I'm looking forward to reading more of these.

    Issues:Only 3 out of 5 blogs
Some grammar issues (ex. Friends vs friend’s, their vs they’re, to vs too, do vs done)
Most of your posts are just stories with little to no opinions afterwards.
A few videos would be nice.

  7. This was actually a funny story to read. Great work Maryline! This really shows how Disney movies have a huge influence on its young viewers. Never really thought little children would eventually start mimicking exactly what they watch in films. Especially something like this. Let’s just hope only Disney movies could influence them.
